One of the unique features of Chateau Amelia is its beautiful outdoor garden, which is perfect for outdoor ceremonies or cocktail receptions. The vintage mini mansion is truly one of the best in class of beauty and preservation. The circa 1905 Victorian structure is a breathtaking gem, while the events barn is styled in modern glam with just a twist of rustic. Behind the barn sits a cocktail patio and forest backdrop ceremony site. It is this unique blend of old charm and modern beauty set on almost 4 acres of manicured grounds set within the magical forest.that makes for a winning combination.

Our maximum guest count is 100 for weddings and destination weddings, 55 for micro weddings and 25 for elopements. Since we have a variety of flex spaces, it allows us to scale to different head counts up to the max of 100.
For wedding packages with on-site lodging, our historic house can accommodate up to 16 overnight guests.
Yes, there is parking available at Chateau Amelia. to accommodate our maximum guest count and for vendors. We can also offer valet parking at an additional rate if desired. No vehicles (other than those who may be overnight guests in the Chateau) can be left parked overnight.
To book a date, a 20% deposit is due at booking, then flexible payment plans for the remainder. The most common is a monthly payment plan to help balance budget.
You are welcome to send smaller partial payments of any amount prior to the specified due date(s) so in effect creating your own payment plan on your own schedule.
Chateau Amelia accepts the following forms of payment:

To reserve a date, email us at frontdesk@chateauamelia.com saying you are ready to book "XYZ" date if it is still available. We suggest you email us stating you are ready to book your preferred date and then include a backup date in case your preferred date is unavailable. Prior to booking a date, we hope you are able to come out in person to visit the property. prior to booking your date. It is not a requirement to tour in person, however. Dates are reserved on a first requested basis. Whomever has requested to start the contract process from us by email first for a specific date will be the first in line.

We kindly request that all tours are by appointment only. Generally tours are offered Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays (depending on events scheduled) Because the property can be in use by guests, we ask that you refrain from "dropping by" to allow our guests private enjoyment.
In the event a customer needs to cancel an event, the customer shall notify Chateau Amelia immediately in writing or email. Once canceled, customer shall be responsible for liquidated damages as follows:
a) Cancellation of event more than 6 months in advance prior to scheduled date, customer shall forfeit to Chateau Amelia 25% of the total venue rental rate.
b) Cancellation of event less than 6 months, but more than 3 months prior to scheduled date, customer shall forfeit to Chateau Amelia 50% of the venue rental rate.
c) Cancellation of event less than 3 months prior to scheduled date, customer shall forfeit to Chateau Amelia the entire rental fee.
d) Cancellation of any micro wedding or elopement package at any time shall forfeit to Chateau Amelia the entire rental fee.
In general, we believe the average budget of a couple getting married at Chateau Amelia is between $3,000-$15,000 for all wedding expenses (venue, food, dress, DJ, photography etc.), however that budget could also be outside of that range.
Weekday full weddings and Micro weddings are a great budget friendly option to celebrate your special day.
You have free choice on who you decide to cater your wedding. Your caterers will love that they have the full use of our commercial kitchen for your event. We also have a list of caterers in the vicinity should you like some recommendations.
We want your food options to be as elegant or affordable as your budget allows, and therefore we don't have a food or guest count minimum. Some caterers may have a reasonable minimum for specific dates.
We recommend for efficiency that you book your caterer directly and schedule your tasting etc direct with them.
Music should either end by 9:00pm or be greatly reduced or kept inside the barn with closed doors at or after 9:00pm
At present, your event is offered as a "private" event. While you are not required to hire a bartender, we do request that you obtain an insurance policy to protect you as the host of your event. In addition to our awesome venue, we provide enough tables and chairs for up to 100 guests. We will place the tables and chairs in the arrangement of your choice. We do offer tablecloths, chair sashes, and some limited draping, however the final touches of florals, table decor, cups, silverware and the like will be left to your imagination and subjective styling. We have a great blank canvass that comes with the basics to get you a good deal of the way there to your dream wedding look.
We offer our own lodging at the venue site which is included in our destination weddings packages. Our destination weddings include 2-3 nights accommodation for up to 16 guests. In certain circumstances, there may be an option to add lodging to your non-destination wedding package This is subject to availability and our approval only and depends on a number of variables.
In most cases for full weddings, especially during peak wedding season, we need to be able to turn the property over to a new wedding party and making beds makes it impossible to have the property cleaned and ready for the next wedding event.
In the circumstances when our property is not available or if you have more than 16 guests, there are other options locally:

Other options include, Airbnb and VRBO rentals around the Lake Greenwood area..
At Chateau Amelia, we only host one wedding each day to ensure that each couple's event is special and receives our full attention. The exception to this could be Elopements or certain micro weddings.
Because we only host one event per day, our fee structure remains the same whether you hold your ceremony, reception, or both onsite. The exception to this is if you are booking at short notice or off-peak. If in question, just ask us! It may be possible to book one of our barn only packages if the date is available and not a black-out date.
In the case of rain, we have a beautiful plan B set-up indoors inside the barn for the ceremony. You also have the option of tenting one or both sides of our patio or elsewhere on the grounds at the expense of the contracted party. Tenting is highly recommended for weddings with more than 50 guests to ensure the comfort of your guests.
We are dog friendly, with some specific stipulations. Dogs are allowed (only with pre-approval by one of our owners) at the ceremony and pictures. Animals, other than service animals, are NOT allowed under roof near food. Dogs must be on a leash and someone must be responsible for them other than the bride and groom..

You will have access to the venue at the time listed on your contract, not earlier. Please plan accordingly. Most events follow this time schedule:
DESTINATION WEDDINGS
Unlimited access to house and barn up to 16 overnight guests and up to 100 event guests
2 Night Stay: Check in at 12 pm on a Friday, Check out 10 am on a Sunday
1 night Stay: Check in 10am to barn and 12 pm to the house on a Sunday, Check out at 12 pm on a Monday

Access to barn, patio, ceremony site, grounds (no house)
up to 25 -55 guests (depending on package selected)
4 or 8 hour Access (depending on package selected) timing to be coordinated between couple and Chateau Amelia
Most times, we allow your rehearsal the day prior to your event. Depending on whether we have another event will dictate the exact timing of this. You are also able to do your rehearsal the day of in the morning. Destination weddings and Friday weddings who have bonus Thursday access May rehearse at any time within their rental period access.
We are a working vacation rental and venue rental operation that has a precise schedule for all uses of the property. For that reason, all deliveries must happen during the standard rental period. Please advise your vendors of this policy. If you need a more flexible delivery window, consider opting for a Friday rental or Destination Wedding package.
We suggest the following:
Friday weddings: 5:00pm
Saturday weddings: 3:00-5:00pm
Sunday-Thursday weddings: 2:00-4:00pm
This is a great question! It is an optional service to add-on to packages that we offer for an additional fee. We do not require that you opt for our in-house coordinator. What we will say is nobody knows our venue like we do, so it is a pretty sweet deal for couples looking to reduce their stress levels on wedding day.
